The information below contains important points which You need to know about MediaBlanket Ltd t/a CreditKnowledge.co.uk and the service We provide. We request that You read the following Terms and Conditions prior to using this form, to ensure that You are satisfied with the service that We can offer You.

DEFINITIONS

“MediaBlanket” means MediaBlanket Limited.

"Terms" means these terms and conditions.

“TransUnion” means TransUnion International Limited (company number 3961870), authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority under number 737740, whose registered office is at One Park Lane, West Yorkshire, LS3 1EP. Authorisation can be checked on the Financial Services Register.

"Users" means the users of the Website collectively.

"User Information" means the details provided by You on any application via the Website.

"We/Us/Our" means MediaBlanket Ltd.

"Website" means the Website or any subsequent URL which may replace it which is used to access Our service.

"You/Your/Customer" means a user of the Website.

By using this Site, You are agreeing to comply with and be bound by the following terms of this Agreement. Please review the following terms carefully. If You do not agree to these terms, You have no right from MediaBlanket to obtain Information from or otherwise use this Site. In the event You fail to use this Site in accordance with the terms below, We reserve Our right to take legal action or to report any misuse to the relevant authorities.

As We will be providing a service to You, We will therefore have no obligation to any other party, only You. Please also be aware that if a third-party uses Our services on behalf of You, Our obligation will still be with You being Our Customer. Furthermore, the Terms and Conditions will also relate to You, Our Customer, and not with any other third parties.

This Agreement constitutes the entire and only Agreement between Us and You, and supersedes all prior or contemporaneous agreements, representations, warranties and understandings with respect to the Site, the content and software programs provided by or through the Site, and the subject matter of this Agreement. This Agreement may be amended at any time by Us without specific notice to You. The latest Agreement will be posted on the Site, and You should review this Agreement prior to each use of the Site.

If, after reading Our Terms and Conditions, You do not agree with the content, then We request that You do not use Our service.

(2) TRANSUNION

TransUnion provides Us with data that We use to provide Our services to You.

When receiving all of the relevant information which You have provided when You apply to use Our service, We will provide access to Your personal credit report, Your credit score, and other services (as outlined below).

Please note that MediaBlanket is not a credit reference agency – We submit requests to Our trusted third-party partner, TransUnion, to enable Us to provide You with the Credit Reporting Services. For further information, please refer to Our Privacy Policy. You can view TransUnion's privacy policy here.

(3) OUR SERVICES

You need to apply online at www.CreditKnowledge.co.uk and create an account with Us in order to receive the Credit Reporting Services. On completion of the online application form, and the successful submission of Your payment details, You will be presented with an onscreen message confirming whether or not Your application has been successful.

You will be required to successfully pass an authentication process before You are granted access to Our services. 

Unfortunately, not every applicant for the Credit Reporting Services will be accepted as a user. There is no obligation on Us to notify You as to why You have not been accepted. However, possible reasons for this include:

  • At the time of application, TransUnion may have not been able to match Your personal details to the correct credit report.
  • You did not have enough of a credit history on Your credit file to provide a credit report.

Credit Report

The credit report will be provided to You online. This will be updated when You log into Your account.

Credit Rating

An overview of Your credit rating will be available to You online. Your credit rating is an assessment of Your credit worthiness based primarily upon Your history of borrowing and repayment.

Credit Score 

Your most recent credit score will be available to You online and is updated when You log into Your account. Your credit score is an indicator of how good Your credit history is, and what the likelihood of obtaining credit is.

(4) BROADBAND COMPARISON & SWITCHING SERVICE

This section applies when you use our free broadband comparison and switching service (“Service”).

Use of a Third-Party Provider

We work with a third-party energy comparison and switching platform, Switchcraft, a trading name of Hazelnut London Ltd, (“Third-Party Provider”) to enable the broadband comparison and switching Service.

The Third-Party Provider operates the systems and processes that:

  • retrieve and maintain broadband deal and tariff information
  • display available broadband packages for your address
  • facilitate switching to a new broadband provider where you choose to proceed

We do not access or process your current broadband provider details, usage data, or account information as part of this Service.

Our role is limited to introducing and providing access to the Third-Party Provider’s platform.

Relationship Between the Parties

For clarity:

  • We act as an introducer and facilitator of access to the Service
  • The Third-Party Provider operates the comparison and switching technology and interacts with broadband providers
  • Broadband providers are independent third parties who supply services directly to you under their own terms

Where you choose to switch provider, your contract will be with the selected broadband provider only. We are not a party to that contract and accept no responsibility for it.

Third-Party Provider Terms and Privacy Policy

Your use of the Service is also subject to the Third-Party Provider’s own terms and privacy policy.

You should review these documents before using the Service, as they govern:

  • how broadband deal information is sourced and maintained
  • how your information is processed to deliver comparisons
  • how switching services are provided

By using the Service, you acknowledge that your information will be processed by the Third-Party Provider in accordance with their terms and privacy policy.

Authorisation and Use of Your Information

By using the Service, you confirm that:

  • you are the account holder for the property where broadband services are to be installed
  • you have permission from the account holder to act on their behalf

You authorise the Third-Party Provider (and where necessary, broadband providers and data partners) to:

  • use your address and related information to check broadband availability
  • process your data for the purpose of providing broadband comparisons and facilitating any requested switch

No current provider account access or usage data is accessed as part of this Service.

Accuracy of Information and Reliance on Third Parties

All broadband deal information, availability data, and switching outcomes are provided by the Third-Party Provider and/or broadband providers.

While reasonable efforts are made to ensure accuracy:

  • we do not guarantee that any information provided is accurate, complete, or up to date
  • availability, pricing, and speeds may change without notice

All information should be treated as indicative only unless confirmed by the broadband provider.

You should review the final contract terms provided by your chosen broadband provider before entering into any agreement.

Commission and Commercial Arrangements

We may receive a commission, referral fee, or other financial benefit from the Third-Party Provider and/or broadband providers when you switch or enter into a contract through the Service.

This does not affect:

  • the price you pay for broadband
  • the availability or ranking of deals displayed to you

Third-Party Responsibilty and Liability

The Third-Party Provider is responsible for operating the broadband comparison and switching platform and interacting with broadband providers.

We are not responsible for:

  • the availability, accuracy, or performance of the Third-Party Provider’s systems
  • delays, interruptions, or failures in the switching process
  • any contracts formed between you and a broadband provider

All liability relating to the switching process, data handling, and service delivery rests with the relevant third parties, to the fullest extent permitted by law.

Privacy

Where your chosen broadband provider requires us to collect your bank account details during the order process, you authorise us to securely pass those details to the provider solely for the purpose of establishing your Direct Debit. We do not collect payments from your bank account ourselves.

Your personal data will be processed in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

Your data will also be processed by the Third-Party Provider in accordance with their own privacy policy, which you should review before using the Service.

Where links are provided to the Third-Party Provider’s terms, privacy policy, or related services, these are provided for convenience only. We do not control or accept responsibility for third-party websites or policies.

(5) ENERGY COMPARISON & SWITCHING SERVICE

This section applies when you compare and switch energy on our platform. This service is free-of-charge.

Use of a Third-Party Provider

We work with a third-party energy comparison and switching platform, Switchcraft , a trading name of Hazelnut London Ltd, (“Third-Party Provider”) to enable the energy comparison and switching Service.

The Third-Party Provider is responsible for:

  • retrieving information about your current and/or previous energy supply
  • accessing and processing relevant energy usage and tariff data where available
  • generating energy tariff comparisons
  • facilitating the switching process between energy suppliers where you choose to proceed

We do not directly provide these comparison or switching services ourselves. Our role is limited to introducing and providing access to the Third-Party Provider’s platform.

Your use of the Service is also subject to the Third-Party Provider’s own terms and privacy policy.

  • how your data is processed by the Third-Party Provider
  • how energy supply information is obtained and used
  • how switching services are delivered

Information Accuracy and Reliance on Third Parties

All energy tariff information, supplier data, and switching outcomes are provided by the Third-Party Provider and/or energy suppliers.

While reasonable efforts are made to ensure accuracy:

  • we do not guarantee that any information provided is accurate, complete, or up to date
  • all information is subject to change without notice

You should always review the final terms provided by your chosen energy supplier before entering into any contract.

Commission and Commercial Arrangements

We may receive a commission, referral fee, or other financial benefit from the Third-Party Provider and/or energy suppliers when you switch or enter into a contract through the Service.

This does not affect:

  • the price you pay for energy
  • the independence of the comparison results displayed

We are not responsible for:

  • the availability, accuracy, or performance of the Third-Party Provider’s systems;
  • delays, interruptions, or failures in the switching process; or
  • any contracts formed between you and an energy supplier.

All liability relating to the switching process, data retrieval, and comparison service (to the extent permitted by law) rests with the relevant third parties.

Privacy

Your personal data will be processed in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

Your data will also be processed by the Third-Party Provider in accordance with their own privacy policy, which you should review before using the Service.

(6) INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY & LIMITED RIGHTS OF USE

All the copyright and material on this Website is owned by MediaBlanket Limited and is protected by the copyright and trademark laws of the United Kingdom. You are permitted to copy any such information for Your own personal use but may not republish, store or reproduce any such information in any manner, including but not limited to electronic reproduction, without the prior written consent of MediaBlanket Limited.

Under no circumstances will MediaBlanket Ltd or its third-party partners or agents or employees therefore be liable to Your or anyone else for action taken or decision made by relying on the information on this Site or for any special, consequential or similar damages.

A credit score and credit report are an indication of Your financial position. If using Your credit report and/or credit score to obtain credit, You must ensure that You can afford to make the repayments when they are due.

Should You believe that any details on Your credit report are inaccurate, then please raise a query by using the online process, accessible via Your credit report. This raises a dispute with TransUnion, and if they agree that the information is inaccurate, they can make the necessary amendment(s).

We will not be liable (other than for negligent or fraudulent misrepresentations) for any economic losses (including, without limitation, loss of data, contracts, revenues, profits, business or anticipated savings), loss of reputation, or indirect or special losses suffered or incurred by You.

The Site may contain links to third-party Websites. Such third-party links are only provided as a convenience to visitors of the Site, and the inclusion of a link does not imply approval or endorsement of the linked site by Us. We are not responsible for the content, privacy policies, available computer programs or opinions expressed on these Websites, and we do not control, investigate, monitor or check such Websites.

We are unable to guarantee or warrant the content and/or accuracy of third-party links displayed and/or accessed from Our site and no representations are made by Us as to the accuracy or any other aspect of the information contained in other sites.

  • You warrant and represent that MediaBlanket Ltd’s use of Your submission will not and does not breach any agreement, infringe any third party’s rights or violate any law.

MediaBlanket Ltd does not accept any unsolicited works, ideas or other materials, and You acknowledge that You are responsible and bear all risk to the distribution or use of any works, ideas or materials.

We prohibit the scraping of email addresses from any MediaBlanket Ltd Website (all areas of this site), and We expressly opt out of receiving commercial emails to MediaBlanket domain email addresses that were obtained by violating the above or through the use of automatic address generation software.

(14) ELIGIBILITY

The Information contained in this Website is subject to the UK regulatory regime and is therefore intended for consumers based in the UK. This site is available to UK Residents only aged 18 years and over, and information contained on Our Site does not amount to an invitation to clients who are under 18 to buy any services or products and/ or are not UK residents.

A separate agreement to be entered into at the time of subscription or purchase of these services governs all transactions for the supply of service concluded through Our site.

(18) COMPLAINT RESOLUTION

We have a complaint-handling process, which includes alternative dispute resolution (a process where an independent body considers the facts of a dispute and seeks to resolve it, without You having to go to court).
